Of course, it is harvest, so we didn't sit down until after the Press was loaded with those beautiful Hyde Vineyards Robert Young clone 17 and Trancas Corton clone Chardonnay grapes. Notice the empty seats. Guest of honor is finishing up the delivery.

We have these lunches and celebrations at least once a week. This next picture is from last week when they called me in early ---- TO EAT AND DRINK WINE! That's a first.
The hours during harvest are just crazy. They are long and the work can be grueling.
Amidst a flurry of cellar activity, we will just stop, shut everything down for an hour or so, set out the tables, Paul cooks and we all share food, wine, laughter and conversation. Everyone relaxes and we get to know each other, celebrate life. It seems to be important to the Ramey's.
