Day 2: Part 2, Follow-Up.

After that morning Starbucks:  Jammin at The Buddy Holly Studios!!!
Then to see my new, old friend, Kim McPherson.  The best damn winemaker in Texas?!  He is just such a nice guy.  Must be. Jason, his all-around man in the tasting room, graduated from Tech and stayed on for 11 years now.
That's Kim in the photo.

He says they were to bottle Sangria that day (I'm a day behind on this part 2) but a membrane (filter?) had a hole in it (after the internship I will know what the heck he was talking about. haha) So, if all went right, they were up this morning (Friday, Aug 28) bottling Sangria at 6:00 AM.

They will start picking Sangiovese from his father's vineyard on Monday.
We sat out on the patio and shared a bottle of Kim's DBS - dolcetto, barbera, sangiovese. From his friend, Paolo's vineyards in New Mexico!  Yeah, New Mexico. Delicious stuff.

The big talk in the wine business in Lubbock has to do with sales of alcohol in the city. It passed a few months back. Previously, you had to go to "The Strip" to buy alcohol. However, there are a few legal snaggles before everything moves forward.
Ashley will be the assistant Wine Steward at Market Street when it does go into effect.  Kim and Susan gave her the 1st official recognition as such.
Then My Texas Rangers beat the hated-Yankees in New York!  Winning 2 of 3 in NY.
Todd, Ashley & I watched the Little Leaguers play. More exciting than the Pros today.
California came back to beat Georgia 11-10!

All-in-all a keeper of a day. Cheers!
