After over a week with no grapes to crush, we made up for it today and tonight. Over 24 tons of Lamoreaux Vineyard Cab. 50 bins!!!
We had the crushing equipment going until late evening.(Fueled by pizza on the run).
Lamoreaux is in the Southern area of Napa Valley; The Oak Knoll District, near Janet Trefethen's place. The weather delayed picking for a bit (cool, misty, rain). But, Cabernet is a hardy varietal. Molds and fungus were a concern but all was good. Just some extra hang-time as the phenolics ripened up a bit more.
We also did some fining on 2008 Russian River Chardonnay. It's late. I'll catch up with you tomorrow.
