View from the top

Barnett Vineyards! 2050 feet above Napa Valley
Jackie greeted us in the small nondescript tasting room/barrel room. Why over-decorate when nature has done such a stunning job right outside the front door. (that view is from their Cave)

A fellow Texan, her energy alone made us feel welcome. She actually had plenty of wine experience before moving up to the top of Spring Mountain, working at Flat Creek Vineyards in the Texas Hill Country  and being certified by the International Sommelier Guild.

Barnett Vineyards has been here since the early 1980s. Hal and Fiona's terraced vineyards produce intense Cabernet under the guidance of talented, young, well-traveled winemaker, David Tate (you have to check out his bio).

The wines were all delicious but they also let you relax, stretch your legs, make new friends and just enjoy their property. We had a picnic way up on their gazebo with some of Barnett's Russian River Pinot, sandwiches and gourmet cheese. Just soaked up the sunshine and the view.
Debbie says "Cheers to that!"

ps - Make an appointment and realize it is a long way up that mountain. A sip of Rattlesnake Hill Cab is worth the drive.
